Sign Link is a collaborative digital platform created to address the inequality of educational opportunities and social exclusion experienced by deaf communities worldwide. With only 2% of the approximately 56 million deaf people receive education in their native sign language, this project offers a tangible solution to enhance educational accessibility and expand social inclusion.
Sign Link combines gamified learning processes, personalized practice, a multilingual collaborative sign language dictionary to create an immersive environment where hearing impaired people can learn, teach, and share in their own language. Real-time video recognition–based feedback and social media feature enable users to connect with others, thereby, they gain better access to educational opportunities, leading to positive effects such as new job creation and increased participation in society. By involving sign language users along with families, teachers, and businesses, Sign Link fosters everyday communication between hearing-impaired and non-impaired communities. This helps reduce isolation and inequality, at the same time, building a society that respects diversity and cultural identity.
Sign Link is more than just a learning tool: it creates a social network that can be used by families, communities, educational institutions, and companies alike. Through global expansion, it has already integrated more than 200 sign languages and enabled cross-linguistic learning, promoting cultural exchange. This approach directly contributes to improving education, employment, and social inclusion, helping to build a more sustainable society. Ultimately, Sign Link not only improves the quality of life for deaf individuals but also promotes a social model that values diversity and shared growth for all.
