About Project

Craste uses crop residue that is abundantly available in India to create tree-free pulp.

Paper is used as an eco-friendly alternative to replace single-use plastic packaging materials, but conventional tree-based paper results in deforestation.

It aims to solve this problem by converting crop residue that goes to waste into a pulp that is then transformed into a high-quality, tree-free paper suitable for diverse packaging applications.

Not only is it economical as it makes use of 500 million tons of crop waste that is generated annually in India, but it can also reduce the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere from incinerating crop waste.

The Craste pulp conversion process is environmentally friendly and doesn’t require as much water as traditional pulp making processes.

Craste collects crop residue directly from farmers, contributing to the increase in farmers’ incomes.
