About Project

The LG School project was initially launched to support daily life education for individuals with developmental disabilities. It has since expanded to include non-disabled children, helping them learn how to use household appliances effectively. This initiative aims to foster greater independence and practical life skills through hands-on learning experiences. The project began from the reality that 88.2% of people with developmental disabilities struggle to live independently and require lifelong parental care. The purpose of this project is to provide customized learning materials to make repeated practice possible for this target group.

At the heart of the project are the LG School Easy-to-Read Books. Covering five key household appliances — refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, vacuum cleaner, and microwave oven — the books use illustrations and simple language to explain step-by-step instructions for safe and convenient use. To date, 16,832 copies have been distributed, 73% of which were requested by schools and educational institutions. Teachers praised the books for their high value as classroom resources.

Beyond books, LG School also offers a play-based experiential program called “LG School One-Day Class.” This interactive experience brings together children with and without developmental disabilities, allowing them to engage with real appliances and gain hands-on knowledge. For children with developmental disabilities, this program fosters not only practical skills but also a sense of self-efficacy, instilling with the ‚I can do it’ sense of confidence.

The project was developed in partnership with Peach Market, with a focus on treating children and their families with respect as valued users. To promote inclusivity, the program provides a mobile version for those with limited mobility and offers repetitive learning opportunities for slow learners.

Looking to the future, LG School plans to expand its reach internationally by introducing English-language content and publishing e-books. It also plans to broaden its programs to cater to a wider audience — including seniors, visually impaired individuals, and sign language users, thereby LG School ensures that everyone can learn how to understand and operate appliances. Staying true to its mission of , “Creating a new category of education,” LG School is not only committed to supporting independence for children but also promoting a more inclusive society through education and awareness.
