About Project

Every year, the global fashion industry wastes enormous amounts of resources and water through overproduction and excess inventory, posing a serious threat to the environment. The traditional mass-production and stock-based supply chain requires unsold garments to go through extensive washing, reprocessing, and disposal, further intensifying carbon emissions and water pollution.

IBA Crafts, developed and patented in India, offers a solution through its Just-In-Time (JIT) apparel manufacturing system. This innovative model produces garments within just 48 hours of order placement, starting from plain white fabric. By eliminating the need for preemptive mass production and large-scale storage, overproduction is cut off at the root.

The production process combines AR/VR-based design selection, automated printing with OEKO-TEX–certified inks, and final stitching carried out by local artisans connected through a mobile app. The system is efficient, decentralized, and energy-saving. In 2023 alone, it saved 5.5 million liters of water, and in 2024, 10.2 million liters, while eliminating unnecessary pre-treatment, washing, and reprocessing.

The JIT model not only addresses environmental concerns but also creates social value. The localized stitching network provides dignified jobs to women and home-based workers, while offering students and young entrepreneurs opportunities to learn sustainable business practices, thereby resulting in gender equality, decentralized economic growth, and the spread of responsible consumption.

Today, IBA Crafts operates in more than 40 countries, demonstrating that sustainable fashion can achieve both commercial success and environmental restoration. Looking ahead, it plans to expand its licensing model so that global brands, retailers, and startups can adopt this system. By establishing a new standard of “48-hour on-demand production,” IBA Crafts provides a concrete pathway to transform global fashion supply chains into ethical, efficient, and environmentally conscious systems.
