SEOUL DESIGN AWARD

Tebet Eco Park, located in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a forward-thinking urban green space designed to foster harmony between people and nature.

Spanning 7 hectares in the middle of high-density housing estate area, the park integrates environmental sustainability with community-centric activities, offering a vibrant hub for recreation, education, and conservation. There are four key features.

First is biodiversity conservation. Native plant species are cultivated, promoting local biodiversity and providing habitats for urban wildlife.

The second is sustainable water management. Innovative water treatment systems, such as constructed wetland, soil- bioengineering, natural swales and retention ponds construed with nature-based solution, help manage stormwater and prevent flooding while cleansing water naturally.

The third is community engagement. The park designed to cater various program for people from all walks of life, such as children's playground, jogging track, community plaza, pavilions, fitness stations and educational gardens.

Lastly, it incorporates universal design. The design focuses on enhancing social inclusion and accessibility for all. The shared pathway and bridges designed for fully barrier-free accessibility, promoting physical health and inclusivity.
